Information Regarding the Recent Hepatitis A Exposure at Bartaco Restaurant in Port Chester

The Westchester Department of Health has confirmed a case of Hepatitis A in a food service worker who recently worked at the Bartaco Restaurant in Port Chester.  Individuals who ate or drank at Bartaco between October 12th and October 23rd should receive post-exposure treatment for Hepatitis A within 14 days of their exposure, according to the Health Department.

CareMount Medical is making the Hepatitis A vaccine available to CareMount Medical patients who may have been exposed at Bartaco.

If you are a patient of CareMount Medical, and have seen any CareMount Medical physician within the last three years, you can receive the Hepatitis A vaccine at the following Walk-In Adult Flu Programs through November 9, 2017.  No appointment is needed
  • Mount Kisco
  • Katonah
  • Yorktown
  • Somers
  • Carmel

Post-Exposure treatment can also be given at the clinics being run by the Westchester County Department of Health.  These clinics are free of charge at the County Center in White Plains on:

  • Friday, October 27th – 12:00 pm to 4:45 pm
  • Saturday, October 28th – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Patients should pre-register at or call 211 from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm if they do not have internet access.
