Chappaqua, New York—March 28, 2019— CareMount Medical P.C., the largest independent multi-specialty medical group in New York State, is pleased to announce its Next Generation Accountable Care Organization (Next Generation ACO), CareMount Health Solutions ACO, LLC, received a perfect score on its Initial Readiness Review (IRR). The Initial Readiness Review, conducted by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), is conducted for all ACOs entering the Next Generation ACO Model. CareMount Health Solutions ACO, LLC received a score of 61 out of 61 points, the highest score an ACO can obtain on the review.
“We are proud to report that CareMount Health Solutions ACO, LLC received a perfect score on the CMS Initial Readiness Review,” said Scott D. Hayworth, MD, FACOG, President and CEO of CareMount Medical. “This distinguished achievement is an important step forward and further underscores our commitment to improving the overall experience and health of our patients by providing the highest quality standard of care.”
CMS assesses Next Generation ACOs annually on their overall quality of care measures and ability to deliver high-value care outcomes to attributed beneficiaries. The IRR is conducted in two phases. Phase I of the review is to determine whether the Next Generation ACO has timely executed agreements with Participants and Preferred Providers and that such agreements are compliant with requirements of the Participation Agreement. Phase II determines whether the Next Generation ACO has proper organizational and operational structure, policies, and protocols in place to meet select Next Generation ACO Model compliance requirements.
“The ACO builds on our existing clinical and operational infrastructure at CareMount Medical. This CMS compliance score represents a great first step on our journey to building a best-in-class, value-based delivery system for our patients,” said Peter Kelly, MBA, Executive Director of CareMount ACO, LLC.
CareMount Medical joined the CMS Next Generation ACO Model in 2018 under its managed care subsidiary, CareMount ACO. The ACO focuses on risk-based contracts for government programs, including Medicare Advantage. Under its value-based care model, CareMount ACO delivers care coordination services in close collaboration with more than 600 CareMount Medical primary care physicians, specialists and advanced practice professionals. CareMount Medical participated as a Medicare Shared Savings Program Track 1 ACO since 2012 before advancing to the Next Generation ACO Model in 2018.
