Chappaqua, New York—September 25, 2019—CareMount Medical, the largest, independent multi-specialty medical group in New York State, is pleased to announce Allison Platt, MD, FAAP, Pediatrician, CareMount Medical’s Urgent Care, and Daniel M. Rothberg, MD, have been named recipients of Westfair Communications, Inc.’s 2019 Westchester County Doctors of Distinction Awards. Dr. Platt was selected for the No Land Too Far Award which recognizes a doctor who donates his or her time and expertise to countries where medical care is either nonexistent or at barest minimum. CareMount Medical’s Urgent Care was selected for the inaugural Urgent Care Center Award which recognizes a center that provides walk-in care to a wide range of patients by experienced, board certified emergency medicine physicians. The awards were presented at the Westchester County Doctors of Distinction reception, held on September 24th in New Rochelle, NY.

Dr. Platt has been a practicing board certified pediatrician at CareMount Medical since 2006. She provides preventative and comprehensive care for infants, adolescents and young adults from birth to 21 years of age. Additionally, she serves as the Pediatric Clerkship Director at CareMount Medical for the longitudinal integrative clerkship for third-year medical students from New York Medical College (NYMC) and has served as a preceptor for NYMC first-year medical students.
Dr. Platt is the President of Hands Up for Haiti, a medical humanitarian organization that delivers lifesaving healthcare to the sickest and most impoverished people of northern Haiti. Since October 2011, she has served as a trip leader, active in providing medical care at Haitian clinics as well as implementing the organization’s malnutrition program, improving access to clean water, and educating Haitian doctors, nurses and healthcare workers. Due to her extensive experience with the organization, Dr. Platt recruits and involves numerous members of the CareMount community in her commitment to improving the lives of the Haitian people.
Dr. Platt earned her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center. She practices at CareMount Medical’s Mount Kisco 110 office and has privileges at Northern Westchester Hospital. Dr. Platt has been named a “Best Doctor” by New York Magazine, a “Top Doctor” by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. and Westchester Magazine, and has been included in the Best Doctors in America® list from 2011-present. In 2018, she was named to Castle Connolly Medical Ltd.’s “Exceptional Women in Medicine” list.

Dr. Rothberg leads CareMount Medical’s Urgent Care Department. A board certified emergency medicine physician and director, Dr. Rothberg joined CareMount Medical in 2010. He is responsible for developing and managing all of CareMount’s walk-in urgent care locations and is focused on making sure that patients receive high-quality care for a wide variety of illnesses and injuries outside of the costly hospital setting. Dr. Rothberg led the charge of opening CareMount Medical’s first urgent care in Yorktown in 2010. In addition to his administrative responsibilities, Dr. Rothberg sees patients several days a week in Westchester and the Hudson Valley. Dr. Rothberg earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine and completed his emergency medicine residency at Jacobi/Montefiore Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident.
