Chappaqua, New York—October 11, 2018CareMount Medical, P.C., the largest independent multi-specialty medical group in New York State, announced today that on January 1, 2019, the physicians and employees of the Murray Hill Medical Group (MHMG) will join CareMount Medical, establishing CareMount Medical’s first office presence in Manhattan.

Located at 317 East 34th Street, New York, NY, MHMG is a multispecialty private practice affiliated with NYU Langone Medical Center. An independent professional corporation, CareMount Medical is wholly owned by its practicing physicians. For more than 70 years, CareMount has successfully empowered physicians to put their patients at the center of healthcare decision making. Today, CareMount provides quality healthcare to more than 550,000 patients in over 40 locations in Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Columbia, and Ulster counties and soon, New York County.

“Murray Hill Medical Group’s mission aligns with ours, and they have created a stellar reputation for themselves in New York City,” said Scott D. Hayworth, MD, President and CEO of CareMount Medical. “Becoming part of CareMount will allow for even greater efficiency and effectiveness in all that we offer our patients. As we continue to grow, our goal remains to provide the highest standard of comprehensive medical care in a patient-centered and compassionate environment, close to home.”

“Joining CareMount Medical’s highly successful practice will be tremendously beneficial for our patients and physicians. Our values are aligned, and together we can offer even greater access to the highest level of comprehensive medical care as a private practice. Being independent allows us to provide the right care at the right time by the right provider,” said Rajiv V. Kinkhabwala, MD, President, Murray Hill Medical Group.

Founded in 1946, CareMount Medical, formerly known as Mount Kisco Medical Group, is an award-winning organization that has grown from six physicians to more than 560 providers delivering outstanding care in over 40 different specialties. CareMount Medical also includes eight urgent cares, an ambulatory surgery center, on-site laboratory and radiology services, as well as endoscopy suites and infusion suites.

CareMount Medical is affiliated with world-class organizations including Massachusetts General Hospital and Mount Sinai Health System. The group operates under a single Tax ID number and is NCQA Level III PCMH-accredited.

Established in early 2018, CareMount Medical’s Next Generation Accountable Care Organization, CareMount Health Solutions ACO, LLC is one of only two Next Generation Accountable Care Organizations in New York State. CareMount Health Solutions ACO focuses on risk-based contract performance under Government Programs. For nearly a decade, CareMount Medical focused its strategic model on the shift from volume to value and as such it has been delivering coordinated, high-quality care that improves the patient’s experience and health while lowering overall healthcare costs.  CareMount was also a participant in the Medicare Shared Savings Program Track 1 ACO.

Founded in 1992 by four practicing internists affiliated with the NYU School of Medicine, MHMG has grown from the original four physicians and eight staff members to over 40 physicians and advanced practice professionals and over 100 staff who see more than 140,000 patients annually. MHMG’s main site comprises 14 different specialties and is located within three blocks of the company’s gastroenterology and cardiology procedure site at 347 East 37th Street.

In 1998, MHMG became one of the first adopters of electronic health records in New York and the nation. In 2002, MHMG started using a patient portal with full real-time internet patient scheduling. These initiatives were rare among independent providers in the medical community and were influential in MHMG’s growth over the past several years.
