CareMount Medical Appoints Two New Directors to Population Health Department to Strengthen Quality Initiatives

Chappaqua, New York—July 16, 2018CareMount Medical, the largest independent multi-specialty medical group in New York State, announces the appointments of two new directors to its Population Health Department:  Jessica Klarl has been named as the Director of Quality and Matthew Kamen has been named as the Director of Strategic Analytics and Development.

Hayworth, MD, FACOG, President and CEO of CareMount Medical. “Ms. Klarl and Mr. Kamen bring incredible knowledge and expertise to our population health team and we are excited to have them join CareMount Medical.”

As Director of Quality, Ms. Klarl will work with physicians and leaders to select quality measures across specialties and will oversee the development and dissemination of quality reports.  In this role, Ms. Klarl supports clinical quality initiatives and seeks to maximize revenue across the CareMount ACO and payor contracts.

As Director of Strategic Analytics and Development, Mr. Kamen is responsible for spearheading the expansion of value-based care capabilities and formulation of population health strategies in order to maximize the health of CareMount Medical’s patients and performance of its physicians under risk-based total cost of care contracts. In this role, Mr. Kamen will lead the strategic direction and performance management of CareMount Medical’s government programs and support executive leadership with strategic initiatives and corporate development activities.

Prior to joining CareMount Medical, Ms. Klarl was the Director of Quality at Stamford Health Medical Group, where she led the development of the population health team, creating nearly $1 million in quality revenue annually. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Studies from Boston University and a Master of Business Administration degree with a focus on Healthcare from George Washington University.  Ms. Klarl is a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and formerly acted as the Board Secretary and Program Committee Chair for the New York State Chapter.

Prior to joining CareMount Medical, Mr. Kamen was the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Value-Based Payment Innovation at WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE:WCG), where he led the enterprise development of innovative payment models to incentivize value-based care and managed a portfolio of 25+ physician partnerships across Medicare ACOs, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid. He graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, with Honors Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Business Economics and Public Policy with a concentration in Economic Consulting.
