Chappaqua, New York—July 8, 2020—CareMount Medical, P.C., one of the largest independent multi-specialty medical groups in America, recently appointed Peter J. Kelly, MBA, as Chief Value Officer. Mr. Kelly also serves as Executive Director of CareMount ACO, LLC, the group’s full-risk Medicare Next Generation Accountable Care Organization. As Chief Value Officer, Mr. Kelly is responsible for managing CareMount’s Value Business operation and risk-based contracts, including approximately 50,000 Medicare and Medicare Advantage risk patients assigned to CareMount PCPs in 2020.

As Chief Value Officer and Executive Director, Mr. Kelly leads a cross functional team responsible for overall Value Business performance, including key functions of strategy, business development, alternative payment models, data analytics, and provider network strategies. Working under the direction of CareMount Medical Chief Financial Officer and Chief Population Health Officer, Kevin J. Conroy, Mr. Kelly collaborates daily with CareMount physicians to improve care delivery and total quality outcomes for our patients. He also supports business development initiatives for CareMount Health Solutions, the group’s managed services organization.
Mr. Kelly’s leadership resulted in CareMount ACO achieving shared savings in its first year of operation as a full-risk Medicare Next Gen ACO in 2018. CareMount continues to operate as a Next Gen ACO and also has expanded into advanced Medicare Advantage risk partnerships. Recently, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) extended the Next Gen ACO program and announced the new, full risk Medicare Direct Contracting model. CareMount is well positioned to participate and succeed in these new population health programs and continue to improve quality and care outcomes for its patients.
Mr. Kelly was named a “Top 10 Up-and-Coming Industry Leader” by Managed Healthcare Executive in 2019 and a “Rising Star: Healthcare Leader Under 40” by Becker’s Hospital Review in 2018. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
