Dr. Sophia Francis is a board certified internist. She is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine in the NYU School of Medicine and an Attending Physician at NYU Langone Medical Center.
Dr. Francis’s areas of expertise include:
• General Internal Medicine
• Preventive Medicine
• Management of chronic medical illnesses including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia
Dr. Francis graduated from the University at Buffalo with a B.S. in Exercise Science. She earned her medical degree from the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Francis completed her residency in Internal Medicine at State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. During her residency training at Brooklyn Veterans Hospital and Kings County Hospital/ Downstate Medical Center, Dr. Francis provided care to the under served and veterans by applying the most modern methodology and recent ideas in Internal Medicine.
With emphasis on building rapport with her patients and fostering a healthy doctor-patient relationship through patient-centered care, Dr. Francis focuses on the principles of communication and transparency with patients. The application of these principles in conjunction with the delivery of modern, evidence-based medicine is the cornerstone of Dr. Francis’ practice.
