Dr. Friedman is a board certified internist. He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine and an Attending Physician at NYU Langone Medical Center.

Dr. Friedman graduated in 1979 from the University of Rochester with a B.A. magna cum laude in Biology and Sociology and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to get his medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in 1983. Dr. Friedman completed his internship and residency at Bellevue/ NYU Langone Medical Center and was Chief Resident of Medicine in 1986. In 1996 he was elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and in 2014 he was promoted to Clinical Professor of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine.
Dr. Friedman has been named multiple times as one of the top primary care doctors in New York Magazine, and has been in a similar listing in Town and Country Magazine. In addition, he has been listed in the Castle Connolly Guide “Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area” for over ten consecutive years.
