Clinical Assistant Professor, Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell

Dr. Trivedi is the Director of Glaucoma at CareMount Medical Group. He is a board certified, fellowship trained specialist in glaucoma and cataract surgery. He has been practicing cutting-edge medicine for over 18 years. He specializes in cataract surgery with multifocal and toric lenses, along with minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS) and traditional glaucoma procedures. He uses the latest laser treatments for both glaucoma and post-cataract care.

He attended the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, and was selected among the top medical students in the country to join the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society.

Dr. Trivedi then trained at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, the oldest eye hospital in the Western hemisphere. He completed an intense residency, treating some of the most rare eye diseases and performing hundreds of complex surgeries. He went on to train under Drs. Robert Ritch, Celso Tello, and Jeff Liebmann, considered among the world’s foremost experts in glaucoma surgery and management. Dr. Trivedi has frequently lectured at medical meetings and has been published in research journals.

He is a Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Ophthalmology, New York Eye & Ear Infirmary of the Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine, as well as New York Medical College, in Valhalla, NY, and teaches medical students about cataract and glaucoma surgery.

He has been at the forefront of incorporating new technologies into his practice. Dr. Trivedi has participated in multiple clinical trials and was the first surgeon in Westchester to use novel devices such as the Glaukos iStent as well as the Allergan XEN gel implant for the treatment of glaucoma. He was also the first cataract surgeon in Westchester to use the Zepto capsulorhexis fixation device, the one of the newest and safest ways to perform cataract surgery.

Dr. Trivedi has received several awards during his career. He was voted Top Doctor by Westchester Magazine almost every year since 2015, and Top Doctor by New York Magazine among all doctors in the New York Metro area since 2017. He has been selected by his peers for the Castle Connelly Top Doctor Award every year since 2015.

Dr. Trivedi is passionately involved in several volunteer organizations and charities. He is a surgeon volunteer with Operation Restore Vision, part of Operation International, travelling to Uganda to perform sight saving cataract surgeries. Last year, he and his team built an eye clinic, an operating room, and performed over 150 surgeries within just one week. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Yorktown, NY, which breeds and trains exceptional guide dogs for visually impaired individuals. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Ambulatory Surgery of Center of Westchester, Mount Kisco, NY, a recognized center of excellence in outpatient surgical care performing nearly 5,000 cases annually.

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and has been a member New York State Ophthalmological Society, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, American Glaucoma Society, and Westchester Academy of Medicine.
