Dr. Edward S. Barnes is a board-certified internist. He has been in clinical practice and academic medicine since 1987. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the New York University School of Medicine and an Attending Physician at New York University Langone Medical Center.

Dr. Barnes’ areas of expertise include:

  • General internal medicine, including all aspects of adult office-based medicine and hospital care
  • Preventive medicine
  • Management of chronic medical conditions, including:
  • Hypertension
  • Asthma
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Hyperlipidemia

Dr. Barnes graduated from Columbia College and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center/Bellevue Hospital. He sits on a number of hospital committees, including quality assessment and patient safety.
