A cancer diagnosis is life-changing. At CareMount Medical Cancer Center we understand that and are here to help you each step of the way, from an initial diagnosis or second opinion, to treatment, to wellness and survivorship. We believe no diagnosis should stop you from doing the things you love, or from living each day to the fullest. That is why we offer the latest advances in cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment.

Cancer affects each individual differently.  Therefore, our patient-centered care teams, consisting of medical oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists and nurses, develop an individualized treatment plan for you in order to achieve the best possible outcome. We treat all types of cancers and allied diseases. We also partner with Massachusetts General Hospital and Northwell Health so that you may benefit from the resources of multiple academic cancer centers and have your care coordinated by the cancer specialists here at CareMount Medical Cancer Center.

We offer a wide range of services to diagnose cancer and measure the effectiveness of treatments. Our oncologists use the results of many tests such as blood and imaging tests and biopsies to diagnose cancer accurately.  Our on-site services include: infusion suites, lab and pathology services; as well as radiology services, comprehensive breast imaging, plain film x-ray, bone densitometry, PET,CT and MRI scans; and interventional radiology procedures such as sono, CT and MRI guided biopsies.  Our surgical oncologists offer state-of-the art, minimally invasive and robotic surgeries incorporating ERAS (enhanced recovery after surgery) protocols. Additionally, we provide patients access to the latest advances in cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment through clinical trials.

We welcome you to explore the pages of our Cancer Center to learn more about our approach, our physicians, and our services.

At CareMount Medical Cancer Center, our focus is on you.

Cancers We Treat

Why Choose CareMount Medical Cancer Center?

Expert care from the doctors you know and trust.  CareMount Medical’s board certified cancer specialists have extensive experience treating patients with all types of cancers and allied diseases. Our oncologists have been awarded Top Doctor honors year after year.

Collaborative, integrated care.  A multidisciplinary team of specialists including CareMount Medical oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and nurses collaborate to develop a diagnosis and treatment plan that is tailored to your individual needs. We also partner with Massachusetts General Hospital and Northwell Health. Your primary care physician is an integral member of this team, ensuring that all of your health needs and concerns are addressed through every phase of care. We have a dedicated Oncology Tumor Board consisting of oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists who review cases to formulate the best course of care.  CareMount Medical physicians are interconnected through CareMount Medical’s electronic medical records system, which enables the immediate transfer of more complete patient information between physicians to facilitate coordinated, comprehensive care.

Connecting you to world class cancer experts.  In most situations your cancer can be treated fully in the comfort of your own community but in some situations such as the need for a bone marrow transplant or pancreatic or liver surgeries, some of your treatments may need to occur at one of the large academic medical centers. When this occurs, we have earned a reputation for making expedient referrals to these institutions depending on the specific needs of the patient. Through CareMount Medical’s academic and hospital affiliations you gain rapid access to these treatments usually much faster than if you called these large centers directly. The close collaboration of CareMount Cancer Center specialists with our academic partner physicians helps our patients receive the most comprehensive treatment plans that can minimize the amount of travel needed to these larger academic facilities.

Sophisticated, state-of-the-art technologies. Our patients benefit from the most sophisticated state-of-the-art cutting edge diagnostic technologies, such as 3D mammography, Savi Scout radar breast tumor localization, stereotactic, sono and MRI guided breast biopsy, 3 Tesla MRI, PET scan, robotic surgery, navigational bronchoscopy, and endobronchial ultrasound.

Leading-edge therapies. The therapies we offer include the latest in evidence-based chemotherapy, hormone therapy, immune therapy, and targeted therapy, as well as the opportunity to participate in clinical trials providing access to promising new treatments not yet widely available.

Comfort and convenient care. We provide full-service, comprehensive care to our patients including on-site clinical and pathology lab services, diagnostic imaging services, and on-site infusion suites.  Many tests and procedures are completed on an outpatient basis in a single day.

Access to clinical trials.  CareMount Medical Cancer Center oncologists, through our affiliation with Massachusetts General Hospital, the Dana Farber-Partners Cancer Center and other partners, provide eligible patients with access to promising cancer treatments that are still in the development stages before they are widely available. We also provide access to research trials from numerous pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies that are at the forefront of promising new cancer therapies.

A patient care coordinator/navigator partners with you. Serving as your liaison with your health care team is a patient care coordinator/navigator.  He/she assists you through every phase of care, from diagnosis through treatment, and connects you with support services that make the experience of cancer less fearful and more understandable. Our patient care coordinators pride themselves in taking the time to truly getting to know you and are readily available to address your questions and concerns.

A vibrant community of health and wellness specialists. We believe it’s important to treat the entire person, not just the disease. We offer patient education programs, patient and family support groups, psychological support services, health and wellness services, and a range of complementary therapies that help to reduce stress and improve your quality of life.
