CoolSculpting® and CoolTone™

Learn more about
CoolSculpting® and CoolTone™

There are two advanced, non-surgical FDA-approved techniques designed to eliminate fat and tone muscle: CoolSculpting® and CoolTone™.

If you have stubborn body fat that persists, despite diet and exercise, CoolSculpting technology uses controlled cooling to target and kill only these fat cells.  In the weeks to follow treatment, the body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells.  CoolSculpting results are long-term, as treated fat cells are gone for good.  CoolTone, on the other hand, targets the muscle cells in your body, to enhance muscle mass. The application and treatment methods are slightly different for each.  CoolSculpting is a great way to slim down. But if you want that fit, sculpted look, you will need to use CoolTone to strengthen, tone, and firm.

So how does CoolSculpting work? It works by freezing fat cells, that we call subcutaneous fat, below the skin’s surface. Fat cells are mostly comprised of water, and when water freezes it expands. The expansion of water breaks open the cell membrane destroying the fat cell which can then be safely processed and eliminated by the body.

CoolSculpting targets those stubborn areas of your body where you’re struggling to lose a few pounds regardless of how much you diet and exercise. This method is generally not the best option if you are trying to remove a large amount of fat. Instead, it can be used around the abdominal area, under your arms, around your thighs, and on your glutes.  Typically, results are seen after a few sessions.  While some may see results as early as 3 weeks, most dramatic results are seen 1-3 months after treatment.

CoolTone uses magnetic muscle stimulation (or MMS) to deliver bursts of electromagnetic energy into your muscles. This process triggers strong muscle contractions that your body cannot achieve on its own. CoolTone™ is a good option for areas on your body that you want to tighten and are unable to achieve desired results at the gym.

If you’re looking for better muscle definition, your provider will recommend CoolTone; if you’re interested in fat removal, then CoolSculpt is the answer. Many patients use both cool sculpting and cool tone especially for the mid-section. If you want to have tighter-looking abs, CoolSculpting freezes away stubborn belly fat for good, while CoolTone tightens the muscles. These procedures are not for everyone, so it is important to consult with a CareMount provider to understand if they may be right for you.
